WE ARE THE ONLY DEALER IN VIRGINIA THAT IS APPROVED BY THE ATF TO MAIL YOUR SILENCER TO YOU....yes, you read that right, we can mail it to you once it is approved for transfer.
There are other dealers out there claiming they can mail to you,
but they are putting you in legal jeapordy. Their
procedure is flawed and not approved by the ATF. We have our
documented our procedure with the ATF and have their approval in
writing. Ask those other dealers to produce their approval, they
can't. Don't make a costly mistake with those other guys. If
they were willing to put you in this kind of a position, should
you trust them at all?

Can I own a silencer?
Silencers have never been illegal under federal law; they have only
been regulated and taxed. They are legal in Virginia. Here are some things you also need to know.
- Must be 21 years old
- Typically, if you can buy an handgun, you can buy a silencer
- Must not have been convicted of a felony or pleaded guilty to domestic violence charge(s)
- Must be a United States Citizen
- Must be a resident of Virginia (if you are not, we have to transfer to a Class 3 dealer in your state)
How do I buy a silencer?
- Select the silencer you want
- Pay for it. We require payment before we put it on order with the manufacturer. If we don't have it in stock it can take 4-5 weeks for it to be delivered (we have paperwork with BATFE to do as well).
- Complete the required paperwork IN DUPLICATE (We will send it to you with instructions)
- Obtain Law Enforcement signature on the forms (if a Corporation or Trust you can ignore this step)
- Get fingerprinted. We will send you the correct forms with
instructions. (if a Corporation or Trust you can ignore this step)
- Paste or tape two passport sized, color photographs of yourself onto the forms (if a Corporation or Trust you can ignore this step)
- Write a check to pay the $200 Transfer Tax to Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco Firearms and Explosives (BATFE)
- Return the paperwork (and check) to us. We will submit it to BATFE.
- Wait for your paperwork to clear, about 90 days. We will let you know as
soon as it is back.
- Come in and fill out ATF Form 4473
- Take your silencer home
Some dealers will offer to do the Trust for you, walk, no, RUN AWAY! This may put you in legal jeapordy with the BATFE and state officials."unless your dealer is an attorney or is having an attorney draft each trust and the attorney discusses the options with you directly. Otherwise, this is the unauthorized practice of law and is illegal."
§ 54.1-3904. Penalty for practicing without authority
Any person who practices law without being authorized or licensed shall be guilty of a Class 1 misdemeanor.
§ 18.2-11. Punishment for conviction of misdemeanor.
The authorized punishments for conviction of a misdemeanor are:
(a) For Class 1 misdemeanors, confinement in jail for not more than twelve months and a fine of not more than $2,500, either or both.

Will the Sherriff sign?
As you can see in the table, generally yes. You will need to take your Form 4 into see the Sherriff, they will run a background check and sign. The Chief of Police and the Commonwealth's Attorney for your county can sign as well.
